This tour is suitable for those having a stopover in Bangkok and who would like to get a taste of Malaysia.

You will get a look at some history, have the opportunity to do some shopping as well as some sightseeing and take a relaxing island break while along the way trying the delicious and diverse food that muticultural Malaysia has to offer. A short taste of Bangkok is thrown in also.

VISITING:
BANGKOK - PENANG ISLAND - LANGKAWI ISLAND.

ACCOMMODATION:
One to two star hotel, (2 nights).
Simple guest house (3 nights).
Basic guest house, (2 nights).
Second class overnight sleeper train, (2 nights).

MEALS:

DAY 1: BANGKOK - Your trip officially starts after checking into your Bangkok accommodation. A welcoming dinner will be had in the evening. D.

DAY 2: OVERNIGHT SLEEPER TRAIN - A free morning in Bangkok before catching the always enjoyable overnight sleeper train to Butterworth. B.

DAY 3: PENANG ISLAND - Arrive around midday in Butterworth and take the short ferry ride across to Georgetown, the big bustling capital city of Penang. No meals.

DAY 4: PENANG ISLAND - A free day to explore this fascinatingly atmospheric destination. Penang Hill, Chinatown, Little India or just go shopping and eating all day. B.

DAY 5: LANGKAWI ISLAND - A short ferry ride will see on on Lovely Langkawi Island for three nights of island relaxation. No meals.

DAY 6: LANGKAWI ISLAND - Your beachside accommodation and the warm waters will see you in relaxation mode for your last few nights in Malaysia. Beachside or some strolling are the main two choices today. B.

DAY 7: LANGKAWI ISLAND - Repeat day 6. B.

DAY 8: OVERNIGHT SLEEPER TRAIN - A little bit different in getting back to Bangkok today. Firstly a ferry back to the Thai border province of Satun. Then after immigration duties a bus trip to nearby Trang province for a few hours. Late afternoon we catch the sleeper train back to Bangkok. B.

DAY 9: BANGKOK - Arrive a.m. in Bangkok for a final nights accommodation. A farewell dinner will be had in the evening. Being a Sunday you may wish to fill in the time in between with a visit to the gigantic weekend market, or maybe you'd rather visit one of the famous Bangkok temples within easy reach of your accommodation. Very few people ever get bored in Bangkok. Just watching the amount and chaos of the traffic is entertaining enough in itself. D.

DAY 10: Your trip is officially over when you check out of your Bangkok accommodation. An airport transfer is included also. B.
