This South Thailand Cash Before Comfort small group tour, being cheap (est), is aimed primarily at the under forty fives, (but certainly not restricted to), who may still have to worry more about cash and less about comfort. While Baktrax always prides itself with providing better value for the essentials in your up front price than any other budget or adventure operator this trip is even better value again if you can live without a bit of comfort.

Once you arrive in Bangkok you will only need a few extra dollars to cover your arrival transfer, 18 meals not included and any drinks you require.(As always your tour coordinator will tell you the cheapest and best places for these also). We even include two cans of beer or soft drink with the four dinners. The transport and accommodation are certainly not the most comfortable available on this trip but it is still adequate enough to get us, along with the locals, where we want to go and you will still get a good nights sleep in a clean room also.

PRICE IS THE BOTTOM LINE ON THIS TRIP RATHER THAN COMFORT. This means giving more people the chance to experience other cultures while still having a relaxing holiday.

Itinerary

Day 1:

Tonight our cheap Thailand small group tour will stay in; BANGKOK - Our cheap small group tour officially starts when you check into your Bangkok accommodation. A welcoming dinner will be had in the evening. If you arrive early enough your free time could be spent visiting Wat Phra Kaew & the Grand Palace, Wat Pho, Wat Arun, MBK or Siam shopping centres or take a boat ride with the locals on the Chao Phraya express to some local shops in Nonthaburi.

A few of the  dozens of other options may be Vimanmek Teak Mansion, Chinatown, Wat Traimit, Jim Thompsons House, Silom or Sukhumvit road shops.

OR? Maybe just lay back and have a traditional Thai Massage. A month in the capital wouldn't allow you enough time to see it all. D.d

Day 2:

Tonight our cheap Thailand small group tour will stay in; KANCHANABURI -  After breakfast our small group tour will transfer to the southern bus station to get a local bus to Kanchanaburi. In the afternoon you will be taken to the Tiger Temple where you can pat one of the dozen or so tigers that reside in the temple. Any free time prior to that could be spent visiting the Thailand-Burma Railway Centre Museum, Allied War Cemetery or Lak Meuang, (city pillar). B. L. D. d.

Day 3:

KANCHANABURI -   A free day in Kanchanaburi to visit the Bridge on the River Kwai, Death Museum, Allied Cemetery or a local market. B.

Day 4:

Tonight our cheap Thailand small group tour will stay in; PRACHUAP KHIRI KHAN - Today our small group tour heads back to Bangkok but only for as long as it takes to get another bus to the seaside. The lovely little seaside provincial capital of Pratchuap Khiri Khan is where we end up today. A local night market will allow you to try any number of the local delights for dinner. B.

Day 5:

PRATCHUAP KHIRI KHAN - A totally free day to lay on a beach or perhaps explore this peaceful little seaside town. For the active, Khao chong Krajok, (mirror tunnel mountain), is a tough walk to the temple on the top of Wat Thammikikarem. A monkey or two may entertain you along the way before some great town and ocean views. B.

Day 6:

Tonight our cheap Thailand small group tour will stay in; CHUMPON -  By train today our small group tour will arrive in Chumpon for an overnight stop. Chumpon is a quieter provincial capital used by less people to get to the nearby islands of Koh Tao, Koh Pha-ngan and Koh Samui than the bigger city of Surat thani. This means enough local markets and restaurants for dinner but with a more laid back atmosphere.  B. D. d.

Day 7:

Tonight our cheap Thailand small group tour will stay on; KOH SAMUI - Our small group tour will go by boat  this morning to the world famous island of Koh Samui, arriving mid afternoon at lovely Lamai Beach. It would seem that if Baktrax had to have one really touristy destination in  South Thailand then Samui was the best choice because it  has a great atmosphere and something for everyone whatever your budget or want. From an international fast food hamburger to a locally caught grilled fish done Thai style. Warm waters off a coconut palm lined white sandy beach followed by an early night or party till dawn. Enough shopping oportunities also or for the experienced rider, hire a motorbike and explore the island. A big emphasis on EXPERIENCED ONLY. Others can take a taxi. With enough time you will have the chance to have a massage or spa, do a  yoga or cooking course. B.

Day 8:

KOH SAMUI -  The white sandy beaches and warm waters await us today. In the evening we have the choice of what to do; sup on seafood, party hard or a peaceful early night are but three of the possibilities. B.

Day 9:

KOH SAMUI -  A local operator will take you to a marine national park today where you can snorkel among the fish and the coral.  B. L.

Day 10:

Tonight our cheap Thailand small group tour will stay on; OVERNIGHT SLEEPER TRAIN -  After a last lazy morning on Samui and time for some shopping in the port town of Nathon our small group tour will get the ferry back to Surat Thani to connect with an overnight sleeper train to Bangkok. B. L.

Day 11:

Tonight our cheap Thailand small group tour will stay in; BANGKOK - Our small group tour will  arrive a.m. in Bangkok and after checking into your accommodation the rest of the day is free. No meals.

Day 12:

BANGKOK -  After breakfast  a local operator will take you on a full days tour to the UNESCO World Heritage listed, Ayuthaya Historical Park where you will see the historical ruins with other attractions en route. B. L.

Day 13:

BANGKOK -  A last free day in the city of angels to shop, sightsee, go to a movie or any number of other things your tour coordinator will suggest to you. As it's a Saturday the enormous Chatuchak weekend market is a distinct possibility. A farewell dinner will be had in the evening. B. D. d.

Day 14:

Our cheap Thailand small group tour is officially over when you check out of your Bangkok accommodation. An airport transfer is included also. B.
