Itinerary
Day 1:
Tonight your Thailand small group tour will stay in; BANGKOK - Your Thailand small group tour officially starts when you check into your Bangkok accommodation. A welcoming dinner will be had in the evening. If you arrive early enough your free time could be spent visiting the enormous Chatuchak weekend market and/or, Wat Phra Kaew & the Grand Palace, Wat Pho, Wat Arun, MBK or Siam shopping centres or take a boat ride with the locals on the Chao Phraya express to some local shops in Nonthaburi.
A few of the dozens of other options may be Vimanmek Teak Mansion, Chinatown, Wat Traimit, Jim Thompsons House, Silom or Sukhumvit road shops.
OR? Maybe just lay back and have a traditional Thai Massage. A month in the capital wouldn't allow you enough time to see it all. D.
Day 2:
LOPBURI - A morning commuter train will see your small group Thailand tour in the once important historical, but now monkey ruled town of Lopburi. Lopburi is one of the oldest cities in Thailand dating back to before the 11th century which accounts for some of the Khmer style architecture of the old temples. B.
Day 3:
LOPBURI - A free day in the historical section of old Lopburi to explore the many ruins right beside or close to your accommodation. These include The former royal palace of Phra Narai Ratchaniwet, Wat Phra Si Ratana Mahathat, Pang Khaek and Prang Sam Yot with the latter usually covered in the local monkey population You may also see a monkey or two roaming freely around town.
Lopburi also has a great night food vendors market which sets up daily in the streets for dinner with the locals. Your first chance to taste some great Thai food that very few tourists get to try. Hoi Tawt, (mussels in batter), is just one of the local favs. B.
Day 4:
KANCHANABURI - Two short bus rides via Suphanburi and travelling through some scenic countryside will see your Thailand small group tour in Kanchanaburi. In the afternoon you will be taken to the Tiger Temple where you can pat one of the dozen or so tigers that reside in the temple. Any free time prior to that could be spent visiting the Thailand-Burma Railway Centre Museum, Allied War Cemetery or Lak Meuang, (city pillar). B. D.
Day 5:
KANCHANABURI - A full days tour of the region with a local operator which among other things will include the River Kwai and Bridge on the River Kwai, Hellfire Pass and an elephant ride. B. L. D.
Day 6:
RATCHABURI - Another scenic bus ride will see your THailand small group tour in Ratchaburi. A local indoor market has more great local Thai food and will be a great introduction to authentic Thai sweets and desserts. B.
Day 7:
RATCHABURI - A free day to just wander around this typical neat and very tidy central Thai town with possibly not another tourist in sight. B. D.
Day 8:
PHETCHABURI - A short train trip sees your Thailand small group tour in Phetchaburi. Phetchaburi is known to many Thais as the dessert capital of Thailand. (A big claim after seeing Ratchaburi).
Phetburi as it's better known , seems to have a temple on almost every corner. This makes it a great place to stroll around and experience the serenity of local temple life with, again, very few, tourists, if any at all in sight. B. L. D.
Day 9:
PHETCHABURI - A locally led morning walking tour of the laid back rural temples of town followed by a couple of hours break for lunch and a rest. After which you will continue on to King Mongkut's 19th century summer palace which is on a hilltop just out of town. On the way up you will see some more temples and maybe another monkey or two. The views from the top are wonderful on a clear day. B. L. D.
Day 10:
PRACHUAP KHIRI KHAN - Another short train ride will see your Thailand small group tour in the seaside provincial capital of Prachuap Khiri Khan. Prachuap is far less famous than its neighbour Hua Hin but also has some great beaches and seafood but without the hordes of tourists. The stunning limestone karsts jutting out of the ocean make the perfect backdrop for an evening cocktail. What a great way for your Thailand small group tour to finish seeing Pure Central Thailand. B. D.
Day 11:
PRACHUAP KHIRI KHAN - A totally free day to lay on a beach or by the pool or perhaps explore this peaceful little seaside town. For the active, Khao chong Krajok, (mirror tunel mountain), is a tough walk to the temple on the top of Wat Thammikikarem. Even more monkeys will entertain you along the way before more great town and ocean views. B.
Day 12:
PRACHUAP KHIRI KHAN - Refer to day 11. B.
Day 13:
BANGKOK - By bus back to Bangkok for any last minute sightseeing or shopping you may wish to do in the city of angels. It doesn't get much more Thai than to finish with a Tuk Tuk ride through the chaotic traffic.
A farewell dinner will be had in the evening. B. D.
Day 14:
Your Thailand small group tour is officially over when you check out of your Bangkok accommodation. An airport transfer is included also. B.
By travelling the Baktrax way your Pure Central Thailand small group tour got to see the real thing with a mall piece of the Kingdom almost to yourselves. Something that very few tourists ever get to experience. Real Thai people, real Thai food and really real Thai yummy desserts.
