This South Thailand small group tour is our most relaxed trip. If you need serious de-stressing then this is the trip for you. It has a bit of history, shopping opportunities, friendly locals and great food as usual, but most of all it has some great off the tourist trail beaches. One being on a little known island off the West coast and the other being an even lesser known coastal beach on the East coast. This means very little to distract you from doing nothing at all. Bring a book or two.
Time for even more destressing before you depart Bangkok? Then try a Thai Spa to finish up on? Maybe Divana Spa. Even more time? Try the S Medical Spa which has a large menu for a total overhaul.

Itinerary
Day 1:
Tonight our Thailand small group tour will stay in; BANGKOK - Our South Thailand small group tour officially starts when you check into our Bangkok accommodation. A welcoming dinner will be had in the evening. If you arrive early enough your free time could be spent visiting the enormous Chatuchak weekend market and/or, Wat Phra Kaew & the Grand Palace, Wat Pho, Wat Arun, MBK or Siam shopping centres or take a boat ride with the locals on the Chao Phraya express to some local shops in Nonthaburi.
A few of the dozens of other options may be Vimanmek Teak Mansion, Chinatown, Wat Traimit, Jim Thompsons House, Silom or Sukhumvit road shops.
OR? Maybe just lay back and have a traditional Thai Massage. A month in the capital wouldn't allow you enough time to see it all. D.
Day 2:
BANGKOK - A local operator will take our small group tour on a full days tour to the bridge on The River Kwai. En route you will visit a floating market and the Phra Pathom Chedi which is the tallest Buddist monument in the world.
As well as the bridge on the River kwai in Kanchanaburi you will also visit the Allied War Cemetary and the Death Museum. B. L. D.
Day 3:
Tonight our Thailand small group tour will stay on; OVERNIGHT SLEEPER TRAIN - A free morning in Bangkok before our small group tour transfers to Hualamphong railway station for the overnight train to the southern province of Trang on the Andaman coast. B. L.
Day 4:
Tonight our Thailand small group tour will stay on; KOH SUKORN; DESTRESSING TIME - Our small group tour will arrive a.m. in Trang in time for breakfast before transferring to the refreshingly new, (as far as Thai resorts go), island of Koh Sukorn for four nights. This is the stereotype tropical island with no development apart from two sets of bungalows. Our bungalows are set amongst a coconut plantation right on or close to the beach. The most you will be forced to do is watch the sunset or have a drink or two in the beachside restaurant, or maybe even do both at once. B.
Day 5:
KOH SUKORN - Relax or explore this pristine island which also has a small local population of fishermen and some rubber plantations. Hiring a boat for some island hopping exploration can usually be arranged also. B, daily.
Day 6:

Day 7:

Day 8:
Tonight our Thailand small group tour will stay in; TRANG - A morning transfer sees our small group tour back in the provincial capital of Trang. The rest of the day is free before visiting the large street vendors night market to sample some of Trang's Chinese noodles, followed by some delicious Thai sweets... this is a REAL Thai market. Trang is famous locally for two culinary delights. Strong thick coffee and Khanom Jeen, (Chinese noodles with a coice of a number of curries on top. From mild to fire). B. D.
Day 9:
Tonight our Thailand small group tour will stay in; HAD YAI - A short morning bus trip sees our small group tour in Had Yai, (or alternative province depending on the current situation), the commercial capital of Southern Thailand. While only a district of Songkhla province Had Yai is far bigger than the provincial capital. Here you can shop at the many street vendors and shops for the rest of the day. There aren't many places in the south better than Had Yai to get the feel of the local culture. Restaurants en masse. Muslim Roti and curries, Chinese noodles or fresh seafood are just a few choices on hand along the three main roads of Niphat Uthit 1, 2 or 3. B. D.
Day 10:
Tonight our Thailand small group tour will stay n; SECLUDED BEACH - An early start from Had Yai, (or alterate overnight stop), will see your small group tour heading for your secluded beach in Prachuap Khiri Khan province for three nights at a coastal beach nicely off the regular tourist trail. B. D.
Day 11:
SECLUDED BEACH - DESTRESSING TIME: A free day at the beach is on the cards today. B.
Day 12:
SECLUDED BEACH - Another totally free day to lay on the beach or perhaps explore peaceful little Pratchuap Khiri Khan which is only a short motorbike taxi ride away. For the active, Khao chong Krajok, (mirror tunel mountain), is a tough walk to the temple on the top of Wat Thammikikarem.
A monkey or two may entertain you along the way before some great town and ocean views. B.
Day 13:
Tonight our Thailand small group tour will stay in; BANGKOK - A morning bus trip will see our small group tour return to Bangkok for a final night. A farewell dinner will be had in the evening. B. D.
Day 14:
Our South Thailand small group tour officially ends when you check out of your Bangkok accommodation. An airport transfer is included also. B.
You can now head home feeling far more relaxed and destressed after that well earned holiday and you also got to experience some of the real South Thailand culture at the same time by travelling in a small group tour with Baktrax.
